Everything you need to use the tool, in one place — a quick start, a full feature reference, and fixes for the things that most often trip people up. Search below, or browse by section.
This usually means your browser silently blocked the new tab the tool tries to open. Check for a popup-blocked notice in your address bar — or, if instead a box titled "Copy your print-ready sheet" appeared, that's the built-in fallback: click Copy, paste into a plain text editor (Notepad, TextEdit), save the file with a .html ending, then open that file and print or save as PDF from there. That copy has no branding and is fully self-contained.
Also double check you're on Pro — Print / Save PDF is gated on Free, and the button won't do anything until you upgrade (or switch the demo toggle to Pro if you're testing).
Always use the tool's own Print / Save PDF button rather than your browser's Ctrl+P shortcut. The button opens the drawing in its own clean tab where the print layout is guaranteed correct (one elevation per page); Ctrl+P prints whatever the browser currently considers "the page," which can include surrounding chrome if the tool is embedded in another view.
The logo is saved as part of your local draft, so a very old saved session can override a freshly uploaded one. Click Reset logo (the small link under the logo in the title block) to force it back to the current default, then re-upload if needed. Custom logo upload is a Pro feature — on Free, clicking the logo box always opens the upgrade prompt instead of a file picker.
Both are Pro features. On Free you'll see a note explaining that with an "Upgrade to Pro" button in place of the drawing — this is expected, not a bug. Switch to Pro (or the demo toggle, if you're evaluating) to see them.
Check the tier badge in the toolbar actually reads PRO — the button that toggles it is the same one, it just changes label ("Upgrade to Pro" / "Switch to Free (demo)") depending on your current tier. If it does say PRO and something still looks wrong, try clicking elsewhere on the page once to force it to refresh, or reload the tab.
Check the mm / ft / in toggle in the toolbar — it's a read-only display conversion only. Every number you type, every save, and every printed PDF always stays in millimetres regardless of which button is highlighted. If you're seeing feet-and-inches on screen, that's just the display; nothing about your actual drawing has changed.
They shouldn't — corners are kept clean automatically so component runs never overlap where two walls meet. If a corner still looks wrong, use ↑/↓ on a wall's caption to change the order your walls are listed in — the corners re-adjust to match. Note that this is purely a drawing fix for the floor plan — if a base run is genuinely too wide to reach the corner without its door colliding with the return wall's units in real life, that's a design issue the floor-plan trim doesn't solve. See Blind Corner units below for the proper fix on the elevation itself.
A raised platform automatically stays clear of every wall's components and settles as close to the centre of the room as it can. (Floor zones deliberately do not do this — they are allowed to overlap anything.) In a tight layout, dead-centre may not leave enough clearance, so it settles nearby instead — still fully clear of every wall. If that happens, it's usually a sign the room is tight for that bath's depth, worth double-checking on site rather than a drawing error.
Free includes the starter simulator bay (3 walls) plus exactly one extra wall. Once you've used that, adding more requires Pro — clicking the button will open the upgrade prompt instead of adding a wall. This is based on your current total wall count, so removing a wall and adding a different one won't reset the allowance; it's a straightforward cap on how many walls Free can hold at once.
All three are Pro features. On Free, clicking them opens the upgrade prompt rather than performing the action — that's expected. You'll still see the single default note on the first elevation even on Free, but it's read-only (no drag handle, no delete button, can't be typed into).
Your in-progress session auto-saves to this browser (not tied to an account), so a crash or accidental refresh should restore it automatically — check you're opening the tool in the same browser, on the same device you were working in, since this data doesn't sync anywhere else. If you deliberately used Reset example, that intentionally clears back to the starter bay; there's no undo for that specific action once confirmed.
Named projects saved via Save… are separate from the auto-recovery draft and are listed in My Saved Sets — also per-browser, and Pro-gated.
Check you're on Pro — "My Saved Sets" is gated on Free. If you are on Pro and a project is still missing, it may have been saved from a different browser or device; saved sets are stored locally in the browser you saved them from, not in the cloud.
If you're on Free, the default note is intentionally read-only — no editing, dragging, or deleting, and adding new notes isn't available. On Pro, make sure you're clicking directly into the note's text area to type (not the thin coloured strip at the top, which is the drag handle) — and drag from that strip, not the text, to move it.
Undo works in whole "actions" rather than individual keystrokes — a full drag, or all the typing in one field-editing session, is one undo step. If you type in a field, click elsewhere, then come back and type more, that's counted as two separate steps. Keep clicking Undo to step back further; it's disabled (greyed out) once there's nothing left to undo.
On a shorter screen, the Selection panel on the right scrolls independently of the page — if a component's full set of options (including the Delete button at the bottom) doesn't fit, scroll inside that panel rather than the page. It's a normal scrollable box once the page itself has been scrolled down a little.
Drag a component to move it. Drag its top edge to change height, or its right edge to change width. Click any component to select it and type exact numbers in the Selection panel on the right — width, height, position, outline style, split doors, and more.
Bench, Storage, and Display add a device bench, a full-height club cabinet, and a wall-mounted TV or monitor at those heights. Panel adds a thin end panel. Top adds a bench top cap. Filler adds a horizontal filler strip (kickboards, topboards). Corner adds a blind corner base unit — see below. The separate Floor row adds flat floor coverings and behaves differently — see Floor zones. New items land on whichever wall you clicked into last, and line up next to items of the same height band automatically so you can build a row left-to-right without manual nudging. Every button also works as a drag — pick one up and drop it exactly where you want it on the drawing instead of letting it auto-place.
Where two walls' base runs meet at an internal 90° corner, a full-width door on both runs would collide with each other in real life. A Blind Corner unit is the standard fix: part of its carcass is "blind" — hatched on the drawing, tucked behind the return wall's units, no door — and only the rest gets a usable door front.
Add one from the palette (Corner) at the end of whichever base run sits nearest the corner. In the Selection panel, set Blind side to whichever side of the unit actually faces into the corner, and Door width to the real usable opening you're speccing — the remaining width becomes the blind zone automatically. Defaults to 900mm total / 600mm door. It carries a 120mm kicker like any other base unit, and drags, copies, and deletes the same way too.
This is purely an elevation fix — it doesn't change how the Top-Down Floor Plan trims corners (that's automatic and unrelated, see Troubleshooting above). Its job is to make the elevation correctly document what's actually being built at that corner, not to change the floor plan's geometry.
Set a component's outline to Dashed in the Selection panel to reveal a component dropdown — impact screen, netting, acoustic curtain, door, television, monitor, camera, launch monitor, bar fridge, acoustic panel, sofa, or stool. The icon scales to fit the component automatically. For joinery with a plain front — a bench, a cabinet, a valance — leave the outline Solid instead and style it as a normal door.
Choose the drawers pattern to auto-fill a unit with standard-height drawers and handles, sized to fit however tall the unit is. Leave Drawer count blank to keep that automatic fill, or set it to a specific number for an even stack of exactly that many — 2 for a double "pot drawer," 3 or 4 for a standard drawer stack. Tick Two doors (split) for a centre-split unit with two handles, or No handle for filler and panel pieces that shouldn't show one. There's no separate finger-pull style yet — for now, tick No handle and note it's finger-pull in the label or a builder's note if that distinction matters on the job.
"+ Label" adds a text callout with a leader line pointing at a component. Click it to retype the text or change what it points to in the Selection panel; double-click the label directly on the drawing to rename it in place.
The Power palette button marks a power point (GPO) with the same red-dot symbol builders use on a hand-marked sketch. Click it to drop one at a default spot on the active wall, or drag it straight onto the drawing to drop it exactly where you want, the same as any other palette item.
Click a power point to select it, then set its exact position in the Selection panel — From wall start and From floor, both in mm — or drag it to nudge it (snaps to the same 10mm grid as components). Tick Double power point to switch it to the two-dot symbol for a double GPO. Delete it from the Selection panel or with the Delete key, same as a component or label.
"+ Note" (on any elevation's caption, or the Floor Plan / Schematic headings) drops a freeform red note anywhere on that page — it grows to fit whatever you type. Drag it by the thin strip at its top; delete it with the × in that same strip. A default note ships on the first elevation for reference. PRO to add, edit, move, or delete — Free sees the default note read-only.
"+ Add wall" adds a new elevation (one extra is included on Free; unlimited on Pro PRO). "Duplicate" PRO copies a wall's entire component layout under a new name. ↑/↓ on a wall's caption reorders it — this also sets the order walls join corner-to-corner in the Top-Down Floor Plan. "Remove wall" deletes it (you can't remove the last remaining wall).
Standalone: tick this on a wall's caption when it isn't physically connected to the others — e.g. it's across a walkway or opening, not sharing a corner. It still draws with its own components and dimensions, just set apart from the connected run in the Top-Down Floor Plan by default (west/left, running vertically), instead of joined corner-to-corner. Same drag-to-reposition and double-click-to-rotate control as the bath — see below — since once it's not joined to anything, where it sits and which way it runs is yours to set.
A raised platform is a hitting deck built up off the floor, so it has a real height worth drawing — which is what separates it from a flat turf zone. Shown as two views on one sheet since it's freestanding: front and rear. "+ Add Platform" on the toolbar creates a fresh one — an empty front/rear pair you build up from the palette, same as "+ Add wall" but freestanding in the Top-Down Floor Plan instead of corner-joined (counts toward the same Free-tier wall limit). The starter bay has no platform: its turf is laid flat, so a front/rear pair only ever comes from "+ Add Platform".
Its depth doesn't get drawn on either elevation — set it in the Platform depth field that appears on the toolbar whenever a platform view is active (front or rear, either updates it). Width and height typed into Wall width / Wall height stay in sync between the front and rear views automatically, since they're the same physical platform.
Orientation and position, in the Top-Down Floor Plan itself: drag the platform's dashed rectangle to put it wherever it actually sits relative to the other walls — it stops auto-placing itself once moved. Double-click it to rotate 90° between running horizontal and vertical. No separate fields for either; it's the same drag/double-click language as everything else on the drawing.
Flat floor coverings — turf, hitting mat, entry carpet, putting strip, screen enclosure footprint, launch monitor pad. The Floor row on the palette adds them, and they appear in the Top-Down Floor Plan only: a 40mm covering has nothing worth drawing on a wall elevation.
They are meant to overlap. The hitting mat sits on the turf zone, not beside it, so unlike a raised platform they never push each other apart and nothing is repositioned automatically. Because of that, which one is on top is a real setting rather than an accident of the order you added them — select a zone and use Bring to front / Send to back in the Selection panel. That order is saved with the drawing.
Drag a zone to move it, drag any edge to resize it from that edge, and double-click to rotate it 90°. Exact width, depth, centre position, rotation, fill pattern and colour are all typeable in the Selection panel. If a zone is too narrow to fit its name, it shows just its dimensions.
PRO A true corner-joined plan view, built from the order your walls are listed in above, with each wall's real component depths shown inset and corners kept clean automatically. A freestanding bath is placed clear of every wall automatically. Wall thickness isn't modelled; each wall is a single accurate-length line.
PRO A quick per-wall reference strip showing each wall's component footprint and depth independently — not joined into a room outline like the Floor Plan, so it's best for checking one wall's depths and clearances at a glance.
A read-only display toggle only. Metric is always the default and the only thing that's ever edited, saved, or printed — switching to feet-and-inches just changes what the numbers on screen look like.
Controls whether width/height dimensions show only on the component you've clicked, or on every component at once. Unlike the unit toggle, this one does carry through to Print / Save PDF.
Edit the project address, drawing name, and revision table directly in the title block. Click the logo to upload your own PRO, or use the small "Reset logo" link to go back to the default mark at any time (free to use, even on Free tier).
Two separate systems: an automatic draft that protects your current in-progress session against a crash or accidental refresh (works on both tiers, per-browser only), and named saves PRO — "Save…" keeps a permanent, named copy you can reopen any time from "My Saved Sets," optionally marked as a reusable template.

No — the tool is for coordination and communication, not a substitute for a licensed site measure. Every printed set carries a disclaimer stating dimensions must be verified on site before fabrication or installation, and that no liability is accepted for errors, omissions, or design faults. Three presets cover most residential bays. The tool opens on Recommended.
Absolute minimums are 3000 wide and 4600 deep. Below those a right-hander and a left-hander cannot both play without moving the mat, which is usually the thing that makes a bay feel like a compromise.
Measure to the lowest obstruction, not the slab: a garage door track, a beam, a light fitting or a ceiling-mounted launch monitor all eat into the swing envelope. Set the wall height on each elevation to that lowest figure and the ceiling datum will tell the truth.
Room depth is three budgets, not one:
Those three add up before any seating. On a 6000 bay that leaves very little spare, which is why the entry carpet in the starter layout sits tight to the equipment wall.
Allow 200mm depth for the screen and its frame. Screen top in the starter set is 2800, with a valance closing the gap to a 3000 ceiling. Mounting is bungee cord, velcro track or an aluminium track system — bungee is the most forgiving of an out-of-square opening.
Four levels, in ascending order of how much of a mishit they forgive: none, side netting, side + ceiling (the default), and full enclosure.
Side netting is what stops a shank reaching a wall; ceiling netting is what stops a thinned ball reaching the ceiling on the way back. A valance above the screen — plain black or acoustic — hides the top frame and stops projector spill.
Drawn on the Top-Down Floor Plan only, from the Floor palette. They overlap by design — the hitting mat sits on the turf zone, not beside it.
Turf is 40–50mm built up on foam or an anti-slip rubber base. A replaceable insert mat costs more up front and far less over the life of the bay.
Every model has its own required standoff from the ball and its own minimum ceiling — check the figure for the actual unit before committing the room. Draw the pad on the plan so the installer can see where it lands relative to the mat.
Short-throw ratios run 0.4:1 to 1.0:1. The arithmetic is:
Throw distance = throw ratio × screen width
So a 0.7:1 projector on a 3700 screen mounts about 2600 in front of it. Mount it high and far enough forward that a driver swing cannot reach it — the projector is the single most commonly struck item in a home bay.
Rear (CAMR) and side (CAMS) are 120 × 120 each; a dual pack (CAMD) is 240 × 120. Centre height is 2200 — high enough to see over the player, low enough to stay out of the swing.
Rear cameras go on the wall behind the tee, side cameras square to the target line. Wall, ceiling or tripod mounts; a tripod is the one that gets knocked.
TV centre height is 1400, which reads correctly to someone standing. Mount it on the wall behind the tee, not beside the screen, or it competes with the projected image.
Seating goes behind the backswing clearance, never inside it. On a 6000-deep bay that usually means against the equipment wall, and a sofa's 900 depth is the number that decides whether it fits at all.
A simulator bay is loud — ball strike, impact screen and subwoofer together. Acoustic wall panels, ceiling panels and bass absorption are the three layers; a pull-across acoustic curtain on a track at ceiling less 50 (2950 on a 3000 ceiling) doubles as a blackout.
Light the bay so the screen stays dark: dimmable downlights, LED strip behind the player, nothing washing the screen itself. Allow a double GPO behind the device bench for the PC and screen, and a dedicated circuit for the bar fridge.
